Support for GCC Employees Impacted by the Fires

Glendale Community College recognizes the devastating impact the recent fires have had on members of our community, including our valued employees. If you have lost your home due to the fires, we are here to support you with resources to address immediate needs and assistance as you navigate the process of rebuilding.

Notify Us of Your Impact

  • If you are a GCC employee who has lost your home, please let us know by completing the Employee Impact Notification Form: Submit Form Here

  • Once you complete the form, GCC’s Human Resources (HR) team will contact you directly to assess your needs and provide additional guidance on accessing available resources.

How We Are Supporting Employees Who Lost Their Homes

  1. Immediate Assistance for Essentials

To help with immediate needs, including food, clothing, and other necessities, GCC is providing $300 in Target Gift Cards. Gift cards can be used in-store or online at Target for essential items. Detailed instructions for redeeming gift cards will be provided upon distribution.

  2. Re-Housing Financial Assistance

For employees who are in the process of renting a new property, GCC CARES and the Glendale College Foundation are coordinating up to $2,000 in re-housing financial assistance
  • This support can be used for security deposits or first month’s rent (or a portion of either if costs exceed $2,000).

  • Payments will be made directly to landlords to ensure funds are used for housing purposes.

  • Process and Requirements:
    • GCC CARES will provide details on the necessary steps to access this support.
    • A W-9 form from the landlord will be required so the Glendale College Foundation can issue the payment.
    • More information on the process will be shared with impacted employees individually.

If you have specific questions about the resources available or need further assistance, please contact the GCC CARES manager or Human Resources.
