Insurance Specialist: Property & Casualty

The Certificate in Insurance Specialist: Property and Casualty is designed to prepare students for positions in the insurance industry. This program covers a range of topics that will equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary for roles such as appraiser, agent, estimator, senior administrative assistant, broker, underwriter, and senior sales associate. The curriculum covers key learning outcomes, including describing and applying insurance concepts, understanding elements of insurance contracts, and discussing loss exposures and personal risk insurance. Program Learning Outcomes: Upon completion of this program, students will learn to describe and apply insurance concepts such as principles of indemnity, valued policy, and liability limits; describe elements of a contract, insurance contracts, and conditions commonly found in property and liability insurance policies; discuss loss exposures, personal risk insurance, and types of personal insurance policies.
